Our Digs and Croupski

As I told you in my last post, we spent our lunch break finishing up the album for court. Here you can see Mom and Tammy hard at work in our common room! Mom did a great job decorating my album and thank God for that! Seriously, I think they would have turned down my adoption request if I had to draw for myself!

While we were up there, I took advantage of it and took some pictures for you of the hotel where we are staying. This seems to be exclusively an American adoption hotel, but who knows? I think it's whatever is convenient at the time. It's really just a clean, brand new man cave.

Miss Saasy Anelya decided not to eat with me again this afternoon. Apparently after I left this morning she ate her entire bowl of food. I tried again today, but she wasn't having it. It kind of made me sad that she didn't want me to feed her, but then she didn't take it from the caretaker either. They made me leave the room when they tried to feed her because she just kept looking for me, finding me, then smiling and laughing. I guess I am not good for their effective routines.
The baby room is VERY quiet right now. Much to my delight, I found that the twins and Tate were all gone. I knew they were leaving today to meet their parents in Almaty and it gave me goosebumps to see their playpen so still and quiet. Ella is next and she leaves tomorrow. She will be Anelya's baby house friend in Boston!
Anelya really does not sound good. Her breathing really concerns me, but apparently this is the case throughout the baby house. Here you can see that we were able to get some smiles out of her this afternoon despite an icky case of croup.

She was very playful this afternoon and wanted to play with a variety of toys. Usually she sticks to one for the whole bonding visit. Not today. First the flower...

Then the Baba and giggling at Mama

Then baby biceps with mama...

Then peek-a-boo with Sarah!

In all we had a nice, uneventful day, just as we had hoped for after yesterday's shenanigans. It's 5:00pm here and Mom is asleep. I am next. I may even watch a movie tonight! YAY!

I have read that moist air (humidifier, running the hot water (steam) in a shower) can help with croup.. don't know if you have easy access to that, but it might help.

This is the story of how a single 30-something year old woman and a 6.5 month old angel from Kazakhstan found each other and became a family. A journey which started as a dream, became reality in August 2009 when two hearts found one home... together.
