En Route

Getting closer!

Making progress...

In Frankfurt I changed some old GBP we had lying around. That was perfect for buying a few bottles of water, which would later come in handy in Almaty. It was also nice to get rid of some random currency that has been lying around for ages! We had no problem getting our gate, which we reached via tram and a lot of walking. Frankfurt is a miserable airport to say the least...
Once we got to the gate, it was clear that we were going to board a flight to Kazakhstan. The beautifully familiar Kazakh faces filled the waiting area and I knew that this was for real.

Seeing that map brings back a wave of emotions. Wow, never though a map could be so powerful.

This is the story of how a single 30-something year old woman and a 6.5 month old angel from Kazakhstan found each other and became a family. A journey which started as a dream, became reality in August 2009 when two hearts found one home... together.
