Snuggles and Adventures in Kazakh Cuisine

Again, the afternoon visit was very different from the morning visit. I was able to feed her again at the beginning of the visit, but she really only wanted half of her lunch. I thought it was me again, but the caregiver said the baby she was feeding had no interest either. So, she let me bundle her up and go upstairs to meet Baba in the bonding room.

The big group arrived again and Anelya played for a little while, but all of the stimulation really makes her check out and she, once again, fell asleep on me with about 40 minutes left of our bonding time. It's really not a great scenario, but looking at a half full glass, oh my goodness, did we get some hardcore snuggling in! She just wanted the mama and nuzzled her little nose on my neck and covered her eyes while I covered one ear and patted her with the other. She's still a little stuffy, so her breathing sounded like a little piglet.

When I took her back down I kissed her on the cheek sand said, "Doe Zaftra",which means "until tomorrow". She started to cry and reach for me. It was unbelievable. I love my baby girl.

We had about 1.5 hours to get ready for dinner, our first dinner out, at a traditional Kazakh Restaurant. It was EXCELLENT! The atmosphere was just extraordinary and the food was all really good, except for one dish which we just skipped.

Our lovely waitress, Indira.

Our table full of traditional Kazakh food
All of the adoptive parents (minus Cindy who was with her kids)

Our gorgeous tables were in private bure-type huts

The gardens and manmade river which ran through the outdoor restaurant

I will post videos of today's afternoon visit tomorrow. I have to get to bed soon and I want to write all of the details before I forget.

This is the story of how a single 30-something year old woman and a 6.5 month old angel from Kazakhstan found each other and became a family. A journey which started as a dream, became reality in August 2009 when two hearts found one home... together.
