I am writing this post in bed, as I am VERY sick. I don't remember ever having a cough like this. So, I have taken four weeks off for my adoption trip, worked one day and now I am home sick. I am pretty sure Steve would like to kill me, but seeing as he wanted to kill me for coughing constantly yesterday, I am doomed either way ;-) In any case, this is NOT how I planned my comeback.
I am not sure what to write about. I miss my baby. You know that. I've taken about 37 bubble baths. You know that too. Gunnar and Brody are very happy to have me home and are surprisingly not being bossy at all. They just want to cuddle with me. My bed is glorious. My house is a mess, as I have been too sick to unpack. I ate vegetables yesterday. That was a highlight.
Actually, I am just writing all of this to crack myself up. I have nothing to report. I won't hear anything from Kazakhstan until I return for the grand BUSTING OUT OF THE BABY HOUSE episode in October. I will talk to my coordinator from LMI in the meantime, but mostly just keeping in touch until she has news that I can book my tickets.
This weekend I will be venturing out to Baby Totland and Babies r Us to buy the remaining stuff for Anelya's room and life in general. I am excited to buy all of the food stuff. I love food. I especially love food that does not involve bread and potatoes at the moment. Williams Sonoma has this great little food mill contraption, the Beaba Babycook, which also thaws and steams baby food. I'm all over that.

I still need to buy a changing table, all of the bath and food related items, a rug for her room, an umbrella stroller AND... The Uppababy Stroller Vista in red, since that color suits her so well ;-) However, I also like the Carlin Green, so maybe I should take a poll, since all of you guys are already so involved. Let's make this a game. Place your vote (one per person please) by September 30, 2009 and on October 1, 2009 I will place my order for the winning color. Please look at the side bar and make your vote. I am so excited about this stroller I could burst. Here are the options:

I realized that I will need another car seat for Anelya, since Mom will be driving her around a lot too. So, I bought another one while I was in Semey and it was delivered while I was away. It's fabulous. It's also the same one that Anelya's BFF Finley from the Semey baby house has with her mama, Sandi, in Orlando.
BRITAX MARATHON in ASHLEY FLORAL
It's in my basement right now. I will install it once I get my car detailed. I don't want my princess to drive around in my pit of a car. Which reminds me, when I drove home from Mom and Dad's the other night, the wheels were making a clunky sound. It sounded like a flat tire but it's not. It gets worse when I push the brake. Can someone call Car Talk and ask them what it is and if it is going to justify me ditching this vehicle, which I have never been friends with, for my Volvo XC90? Something tells me that this is a business transaction that will occur just after the new year. YAY!!!!!!!!!!I just talked to Steve and my MD and they want me to get tested for Swine Flu, since I work with patients everyday. Awesome. I will keep you posted. This is just ridiculous.

Thank you for the update. I was going to give you a week off and then start hounding you.
Sorry your so sick, that really does stink. Happy that you get to start shopping for Anelya and you can get her that rockin' stroller.
Hugs
Sandi
So sorry you're sick and I really hope it isn't any form of flu! If you have to be sick, at least you are home in your own bed with your pups to cuddle and veggies to eat.
Oh, just go buy the Volvo now! That way you can install your new child in her new carseat in the new car!
Hope you're feeling better in time to tear up the baby stores.
Oh I sure hope you don't have swine and this is just all about over exhaustion. Feel better quickly and enjoy this period of rest if you can. Soon you will long for a break and there won't be any! Just caught up on all your blogs as I have been in the wilderness (literally). Take care and say a big hello to your mom!
We have the babycook and love it. I made all of Oliver's baby food and still use it to make some of his food. I also purchased the book, " The Healthy Baby Meal Planner" by Annabel Karmel and it is fabulous with lots of easy ideas!
Uuuuuuum, are you going to quit posting after you bring her home? I don't know if I can handle that...
Of course, at that point, you will have other, more important things to do, so I suppose I could manage...
