12,000 hits!

It amazes me that this private blog has now gotten over 12,000 hits. Thank you all so much for being so interested in my quest to find and bring Anelya home. I am so touched.

I am still sick, but do not have strep throat or swine flu. I went to the ER yesterday and got tested. Since I work with so many patients around, it's important to make sure I don't get anything funky that could easily be spread to people who are already struggling with health and immunity issues.

I am really starting to think about what it will be like to have Anelya home and I can't wait. Gunnar and Brody really could not have been less interested in her baby blanket, but they were VERY interested in all of the toys she has been sucking on. They sniffed and sniffed and Brody tried to snag a stacking cup, but I firmly said, "No! That is Anelya's. Not for you!" He continued to smell it, but did not try to steal it again. Gunnar, the most perfect dog who ever lived (except for his terrible gas and jumping), never tried to take anything, of course.

I can't think of much else other than Anelya. Those of you who know me really well know that I have an unreasonable obsession with creating spreadsheets in Excel. I LOVE EXCEL. Well, this morning I started a new one which I am using to compare prices on the final things left to buy for Anelya. It is quite fun and keeps me busy.

Last night I found out that one very generous final donation will pay for the rest of the adoption related expenses. I am so thankful for this generosity and love being shown for my most perfect baby angel. So many people have done so much to help me bring Anelya home and it is very touching to think of the enormous extended family who is out there cheering her on! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!

Please do not forget to vote on which color stroller I should get! You will find the poll on the upper left hand side of the screen. The September 9, 2009 entry entitled, "Oh, You Want Me to Keep Posting?" boasts pictures of the two choices. You have until September 30 to vote, unless I get antsy and have to give in earlier. Until next time...

So, here's my dilemma about your stroller (yes, I am still reading the blog even though you are home! What can I say? I got addicted while you were away!). Red is good b/c it is easier to see (like when crossing the street), but dirt shows up much better. Green is easier to keep clean, but doesn't stand out as much. So I will refrain from actual voting, but at least you now have my two cents!

This is the story of how a single 30-something year old woman and a 6.5 month old angel from Kazakhstan found each other and became a family. A journey which started as a dream, became reality in August 2009 when two hearts found one home... together.
