What to Write?

Well, I have now left you hanging for a whole 12 days. I guess this what they call... "The Wait". I've thought about writing several times, but am not sure what to write about. You may have noticed some changes to the blog and the incarnation of a new fundraising website www.teamlily.blogspot.com Other than that, I can't wait for this election to be over with.

I am feeling a little apprehension about just WHEN we will end up traveling. Basically, it could be May or it could be October. that's a pretty large window. So, it will be interesting to see what the norm ends up being. My agency coordinator has warned that time frames will now be prolonged, as region assignments are now being made before it is known if children in your requested age group are available. So, basically, now your dossier waits in the region until children become available. The wait will likely be longer for an infant, but I am willing to wait. So, it's really anybody's guess. So, we wait. And I feel fine about it.

So, if I haven't been blogging and I have been patiently waiting, then what HAVE I been doing? Yes, setting up the wreath fundraiser. You are getting veeeeery sleepy. Buy a wreath for yourself or as a gift for someone you love... Actually, they are really lovely and for every item I sell, the full$10 profit goes to the adoption. You can have one sent anywhere in the continental U.S. Team Lily has been amazing and consists of 10 members. One of them, the aforementioned Pierre (See August post called "There Goes the Neighborhood" for pictures) is a realtor and had the brilliant idea to send information to 400 realtors to encourage them to buy a wreath for the homes they are selling or as a means of showing client appreciation. My friends Tina, whom I haven't seen since we lived in the same dorm in college 12 years ago, sent info to over 150 people. And Amy, whom many of you know, had gathered six orders in about an hour. They are just a couple of the people working hard to help make this fundraiser successful. Team Lily's Wreath Division consists of: Amy, Donnamarie, Leah, Pierre, Shauna (whom I've never even met!), Tina, Wendy, Mom, Dad, and ME! GO TEAM!

So, if you are so inclined or if my master hypnosis techniques worked, please visit www.teamlily.blogspot.com and buy your wreath now. If you celebrate Christmas, you will probably buy one anyway and these decorated wreaths are of great quality and are ready to hang at reasonable prices. Ok I'm done now. I promise. Buy a wreath. ;-)

Well? I have to redirect my energy somewhere during the wait! And I have... This weekend I also made 8 loaves of bread. It was a little ridiculous. Here are the recipes I tried (and loved) Whole Wheat Bread, Coconut Bread, Rye Bread, Cinnamon Raisin Bread, and (my personal favorite) ENGLISH MUFFIN BREAD. Now let's take a moment for English Muffins. I mean, I REALLY love English Muffins and have been unabe to eat them for some time now because of my milk allergy. But, during my personal bread baking festival, I was able to make an egg-free, dairy-free English Muffin Loaf. Holy Moly. Next up? I'm going to test the Thanksgiving Bread recipe which supposedly tastes like stuffing. Yeah, this hobby should be... slimming... Let me know if you want some bread. There may very well be some FAT BIRDS around here soon! HA!

I totally understand what you mean by the huge window of time when we "might" travel. How do you prepare for something when you really have no clue when you're going? I've done pretty much all I feel I can at this point. There's paperwork to deal with, but since things can't be too old, I also worry about doing things too soon! I'm hoping to just enjoy the holidays and then see what happens in '09!

It is SO hard to prepare when your window of "might travel" is so big!! You want to be ready, but there's so much that you can't do until you know more. I'm just hoping to enjoy Christmas and wait to see what 2009 has in store. Should be an amazing year for lots of us!!

This is the story of how a single 30-something year old woman and a 6.5 month old angel from Kazakhstan found each other and became a family. A journey which started as a dream, became reality in August 2009 when two hearts found one home... together.
