Happy 10 month Birthday, Anelya!

Happy Birthday to me!!!

Anelya turns 10 months old today. She is really growing fast now. Yesterday I had some 12 month clothes on her and she was busting out of them. I think it was just the outfit, because she is just starting to outgrown 9 month pajamas, so we shall see. Still no teeth, although she is gnawing on everything in sight. I have to buy some Vaseline to put on her face so it doesn't get chapped. It's starting to, I can see it.
The love affair between Anelya and the dogs continues. She calls them over to her now and they come to kiss her hands, then she laughs. It makes for a lot of hand washing, but hey, I couldn't ask for things to be going more smoothly. Anelya figured out today that the dogs like to sit right next to her when she eats... wonder why!?!?! Well, cue the banana throwing because she has caught on and the dogs are in heaven. It seems to be everyone against me at this point and, for the first time in their lives, I will let the dogs eat the people food she throws.
Something awesome just happened. I think I have told you that Anelya drinks an unusual amount of water. The doctor said it was good for her, no problem, but she is always thirsty. Well, her bottle of compote was over on the counter just now as she zipped up to it in her walker and let me know she wanted it. Then, when I took it away, she did the sign language sign for "more". YAY! It works! So cool. This kid rocks.
It's 8:22a.m. and almost time for her morning nap. Let me tell you - I am READY FOR HER MORNING NAP. I have been up since 3a.m., hacking up a lung and watching WAPC - The Anelya Porter Caesar channel, my new favorite show. Poor kid is like Truman. She started babbling and playing in her crib around 4:30a.m. "babble, babble, mamama". I really should turn that monitor off... LOL

This is the story of how a single 30-something year old woman and a 6.5 month old angel from Kazakhstan found each other and became a family. A journey which started as a dream, became reality in August 2009 when two hearts found one home... together.
