Well, Anelya had her first interview today with the Granite State News. She was, of course, VERY cute in her little Hanna Andersson red Asian romper (yes the one she had on in Kaz that I ended up buying in every size...) and, of course, a flower barrette. Like any good diva would do, she demanded lunch during the interview. So, as we talked to the reporter, she dined on what she liked, and raspberried what she didn't like.
One of my friends asked me on Facebook today "What's she going to say?" to the reporter. I said, "She has one word which, in this case, says everything, 'MAMAMAMAMAMA'!" :-) What more is there to say?
Anelya has gotten very good at her pincher skills. She feeds herself little cheese cubes and puffs very easily now. She is showing great interest in feeding herself which is excellent at her age. She also knows when it is time to eat. This morning while I was preparing her breakfast, Anelya decided it was time to get this show on the road so she swished over in her little walker over to the high chair and proceeded to try to lift herself into it. "Ok," I thought to myself, "I guess this means she is hungry!" So, I put her in her high chair and gave her a few things she could feed herself while I continues to prepare her big people oatmeal. She really hasn't refused anything I have given her so far.
We visited her daycare yesterday so I could drop off some paperwork. I took her downstairs (Mom was with us) so Mom could see the room. Anelya was ecstatic to see the other little kids and started playing right away. So, I guess that is a good sign. I am pretty sure she will love going to "school". She is such a sociable little creature. Tomorrow morning we have a breakfast date with Hoovie at the diner. That should be very exciting. She is somewhat of a celebrity in town and weekend breakfasts with dad at the diner is a longstanding tradition of ours. Fun that Anelya will get to join us now!
I am still pretty tired, but it's most because of this wretched cough that I have that is making me want to scratch my throat out. As soon as that goes away and I can get a decent night's sleep, then we'll be talking!

This is the story of how a single 30-something year old woman and a 6.5 month old angel from Kazakhstan found each other and became a family. A journey which started as a dream, became reality in August 2009 when two hearts found one home... together.

How fun that she's a little star already! And a social butterfly. I love that trait in little girls. Miras is very shy with new kids but seems to be very popular with his friends at daycare and several parents have told us that their kids talk about playing with Miras when they get home. Great that she likes school already. It'll make that transition so much easier.
