Hacking (up lungs and hair!)

Because Anelya had a daycare cold, we spent much of the weekend in pajamas, hanging out and getting better. This really helped Anelya. She seems to be doing much better. I, on the other hand, now have the same cough I had when i got back from Kazakhstan on the first trip. It is, by far, the most annoying, torturous cough I have ever had. I have now broken down and am going to my MD tomorrow and will probably have xrays taken of my chest. I feel fine. I just cannot stop coughing and it is literally making me crazy now. I sound like that synthesizer in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

In any case, we did make our first trip to Target yesterday. I needed basically everything. Brody is a pacifier and stacking ring burglar, so in addition to diapers and formula, I had to buy a ton of pacifiers (Anelya will only use the MAM 6mos+, thank you very much) and a new set of stacking rings. It was so much fun and we got to use our shopping cart toy extravaganza thing, which Anelya loved. I also disinfected the you know what out of the shopping cart. There will be no swine-age on in my house!

We also had breakfast at the diner with Hoovie again, which was a treat, as always. Anelya just LOVES her Hoovie and lights up every time she sees him. He also came over to play with her a little during the afternoon. I was exhausted from my own coughing and form listening to her cough all night Friday night. It's nice to have an extra set of hands, even for an hour and even if it's just to have another adult around to hang out with. Anelya totally digs it too!
Anelya thought this was a very fun game.

Serious business going on...

I had a haircut today and Anelya got to follow along. I kind of thought she would want to play, so I brought her walker from Baba's. Instead, she was quite content to sit in her stroller throne and watch the very exciting process of cutting Mommy's mane. The fun part is that next time she will get her hair trimmed to!

She was making funny faces all day...

Today Anelya went to play with Baba and Hoovie for an hour, while I had a meeting with her "school". She was as happy as a clam and, as you can see, she was into everything, as usual. Anelya has a special toy box and, of course, a walker at Baba and Hoovie's house. She has become a crazy walker girl. She can steer it and run at full speed and does so for much of the day.

So, we have one very happy little monkey on our hands. She loves her doggies, loves her crib, loves her Mama. It's all good here in New Hampshire!

This is the story of how a single 30-something year old woman and a 6.5 month old angel from Kazakhstan found each other and became a family. A journey which started as a dream, became reality in August 2009 when two hearts found one home... together.
