Well, the passports arrived and I have been told that I can arrive in Kazakhstan October 30, which means we will be leaving next Wednesday, October 28 to make the final trip across the globe to bring my daughter home. Our plan is as follows:
Wed, Oct 28 - Leave Boston for Almaty, Kazkahstan
Fri, Oct 30 - Arrive in Almaty and fly to Semey & visit with Anelya at baby house
Sat, Nov 1 - Visit Anelya at baby house, show Dad around Semey
Sun, Nov 2 - Bust Anelya out of baby house and fly to Almaty
Mon-Thurs, Nov 2-5 - Medical evaluation and Embassy appointments
Friday, November 6 - Return home and land in Boston at 4p.m.
There is currently another paperwork snafoo that I am dealing with. It seems that the USCIS office did not send the cable with my updated approval to the Embassy in Almaty. I was made aware of this by my agency who checked into this today. So, I have contacted the National Visa Center in Portsmouth, NH and have asked them to urgently send the cable. Hopefully, this is a simple fix and I will hear it's been done tomorrow. In any case, it's not a huge problem and is apparently quite normal. So, while I am preparing to leave I will be taking care of this as well.
This new schedule means that Anelya and I will get to go Trick or Treating in the Bonding room and ask all of the stuffed animals for candy :-) I don't care where we are, as long as she is a pink gerbera daisy. YAY!

This is the story of how a single 30-something year old woman and a 6.5 month old angel from Kazakhstan found each other and became a family. A journey which started as a dream, became reality in August 2009 when two hearts found one home... together.

Great news!!! I know the anxiety is behind you now and you have only a happy future to contemplate. I'll keep you in my prayers.
Congratulations! I am so excited to see that you got some good news. Here's hoping that the days fly by and before you know it you have Anelya in your arms again.

Woo-hoo! So happy you have some travel dates now and know when you will have your baby girl in your arms!
BTW, my "cable" with my updated approvals got lost too, but we find out less than two days before I was supposed to leave Almaty! Seems they had mailed it (yes, mail) to Astana instead of Almaty. Marina was able to find it and get it submitted. She's a superstar! Hope yours is found soon.
can't wait to see some pics of the gerber daisy! what are you going to be mom?
