Our flight to Almaty could not have been better. The plane was nowhere near full so we were able to lie down and get some good rest. It also helped a great deal when we got to passport control because there was barely anyone in line. There were even luggage cats at the baggage claim! Mom will be so mad!
We met Kate and Leo outside customs and were ushered upstairs where we sat down and were given our cell phones, domestic tickets, and shocking news! Apparently there is now a Saturday flight out of Semey and we will be taking custody of the girls and returning TOMORROW! So, we now know that our "Gotcha Day" is Halloween!
Unfortunately, this will mean that Dad won't even spend 24 hours in Semey, but he will still get to see the baby house. And let's face it, I am THRILLED that Anelya and I will spend our lives together starting TOMORROW!
Right now it's 8a.m. In Almaty and we are on hour 3 of a 9 hour layover. The flight to Semey leaves at 2p.m. Which is 4a.m. EST. This is going to be a LONG day.

Glad to hear that you made it safely to Kaz. Your layover in Almaty is quickly coming to a close as it is now about 10 am local Kaz time. We wish you a safe flight to Semey and hope that you are able to get some sleep tonight before you are reunited with your daughter TOMORROW!!!
