It's a sign - literally and figuratively!
I live in the middle of nowhere. It takes 45 minutes to go anywhere, but about 30 minutes away on the other side of the lake one can find a Home Goods, a pet store, Loew's etc. When Mom and I feel like going somewhere but don't want to put in the effort of a longer drive we go there. Home Goods is often the target and we always leave with something. There is one aisle of Home Goods which has children's toys, furniture, etc. For the past six months, mom and I have noticed that signs keep popping up with girls' names on them. It's almost always Madison, Ava and Emma.
Well, this week Mom did a Home Goods run. We gave up on finding a Lily sign months ago, but still always look. This week, Mom was about to pass by the aisle when a little voice said "What if?', so she turned around and went to look just in case. SURE ENOUGH! Lily's sign was there - spelled correctly and everything! Mom obviously bought it and the fact that she found this sign on very day that I sent my dossier to Texas makes it, well, a sign.
On another note, Gunnar turns 3 today. Yes, I know he is a dog, but he is my dog and I love birthdays! So, he has now enjoyed a long belly scratch and will now devour a Yoggi Hound sundae with frozen doggy yogurt and biscuits. Brody will obviously have some too, although his waistline could stand to skip this event. Gunnar shares his birthday with my grandfather. Happy Birthday, Cobby!

This is the story of how a single 30-something year old woman and a 6.5 month old angel from Kazakhstan found each other and became a family. A journey which started as a dream, became reality in August 2009 when two hearts found one home... together.
