In record time, I managed to receive my revised (genderless) home study, get it apostilled and FedExed all since 1p.m. this afternoon. It all went something like this...
I harassed my home study agency, very politely, all last week, asking when the home study would be ready. Anyone in NH/VT looking for a home study agency should use Adoptive Families for Children in Keene, NH. I cannot thank Ardie & Sharon enough fpor their speediness and Judy, my social worker, has been pleasant and quick to help at every request. I am very fortunate. I thought it was going to arrive at their office last week, but it came yesterday instead. They overnighted it to me and let me know it was coming.
So, I came in this morning and asked my Most Favorite Almost Perfectest Boss Ever :-) if h would mind if I took off for Concord at lunchtime, which would get me back about a hour late from lunch. He's such a star and said, "No, I don't care. Go!" So I repeated my previous mad rush to the State House (refer to August 5, 2008 Entry: In This Episode of Andrea Stalks FedEx), parked the car, got the home study apostilled and was back in the car within 9 minutes. Go Team! Made it back to the office, copied the new and improved home study, and my favorite FedEx friend picked it up within 15 minutes.
So, I have emailed everyone in the world about this darn home study revision. It kind of sounds like this, "Dear everyone who has ever seen my name at LMI: If my calculations are correct, I should receive my new home study by 1 pm Tuesday, have it apostilled and sent to you so that it arrives by 10a.m. on Wednesday. What does this mean for my timing? BLAH BLAH BLAH" I click send and then realize how crazy I sound. It's kind of like that totally rational phone call you had to make to that guy when you were 17 (ok or 31) that made so much sense at the time and now you just want to crawl under a rock and hide. Luckily, my coordinator, AJ, totally gets it. I'm going to let it boil down to maternal hormones. Yeah, that sounds good.
So, I'm deciding whether or not i should go back to the office to get the stalkable tracking number or if I should fly by the seat of my pants and let FedEx do their thing. Be wild, Andrea! Take a chance. LOL. So, tonight I stalk FedEx in my head.

This is the story of how a single 30-something year old woman and a 6.5 month old angel from Kazakhstan found each other and became a family. A journey which started as a dream, became reality in August 2009 when two hearts found one home... together.

Thanks, Sandi ;-) The best part is that AJ asked "what are you going to do when the wait starts? Maybe will have to make up some paperwork for you to send and stalk." HAHAHAHAHA Have you heard anything lately?
