Happy Mother's Day, everyone!
I'm sorry that I am down to blogging once a month, but with no news to report, I just don't want to bore you. I am still trying to get the pictures from my last baby shower, but there have been some complications. Sigh. I should have had them take them on my own camera!
This is a special day for me because today I choose to see myself as a mother. After all, it is quite probable that my baby has been born and is simply not "paper ready" for me yet. Soon. Soon. I keep telling myself that. I turned 34 last week. It's hard to believe I am in my mid-thirties. I am SO READY to be a mom.
Last night I went through my documents and found that I will have to basically redo everything, as the papers expire this summer. I will also have to redo my FBI fingerprints for USCIS soon, as they expire in August. You might remember that the paperwork phase of the adoption has by far been the most stressful for me, so I am not looking forward to redoing it to say the least.
I have decided to do both trips myself, mostly in an effort to get the baby home faster, but also because I want to experience that moment when the plane lands at Logan and she becomes a U.S. Citizen. I want to be there to make sure everything goes smoothly.
I still have to raise $4,000 to cover the flights. I will be holding another yard sale extravaganza within the next month and then I will reevaluate what my next fundraiser will be. It's a wonderful feeling to be so close to paying for this process without having to go into debt. If any of you would like to donate some "junque", please contact me or my mom. Also, if you have any Lufthansa miles that are about to expire, please consider donating them to me for my trips.
It's also time fo me to clean up my blog. In order for me to do that, I need to know who is still reading. Please leave me your name and email address as a comment, so I don't leave you out! I want everyone who wants to be following my journey to continue to be able to do so!
Well kids, that's all I have for now. Hopefully, I will have exciting news for you in the near future. Goodness knows I could use some!

This is the story of how a single 30-something year old woman and a 6.5 month old angel from Kazakhstan found each other and became a family. A journey which started as a dream, became reality in August 2009 when two hearts found one home... together.

I'm still here! Stick with it - you know it will all happen the way it is meant to. There is a reason for all the waiting and you will be able to see it eventually :)
Take care
