Little Update

Well, this is not the kind of update that any of us were hoping for, but at least it is an update that will help us create realistic expectations regarding the timeframe for when I will get to travel to meet Lily.

Yesterday I spoke with AJ, my coordinator and said I was just really hoping to readjust my mindset to a more realistic time frame given the current availability (or lack thereof) of babies in my region. We agreed that it is fair to say that I will not be traveling until August AT THE VERY EARLIEST. This means, we are now hoping to have Lily home by Christmas and even that may not happen.

I have to admit, I am having a hard time now. I know that this all part of God's plan, but I am bummed. So, instead of focusing on bringing home baby this summer, I will be focusing on learning to play golf. I am excited about that.

Thank you for all of your well wishes and for your patience. I know that you all feel like this has dragged on and on. We just need to keep the faith and keep praying to travel when the time is right and the baby I meant to parent is ready.  Hang in there!

I am so sorry to hear this. The whole process is such a roller coaster -- but this must be a particularly "low point" on your journey. I hope that you can seek comfort and hapiness wherever it is available to you and that the remainder of your wait goes by quickly.

Hang in there! You can at least be assured that once you get the LOI your child will be ready and waiting. You are with a great agency and going to a fabulous region. All in good time, but sigh, it's hard all the same. Good idea on the golf!

This is the story of how a single 30-something year old woman and a 6.5 month old angel from Kazakhstan found each other and became a family. A journey which started as a dream, became reality in August 2009 when two hearts found one home... together.
