Last of the Dossier

I'm sorry I haven't written much in the past couple of weeks. It's not that there hasn't been anything to write about, it's that i have been SO BUSY with the dossier that I haven't had much energy for anything else. As you know, it really stressed me out that all of these different people were responsible for getting various pieces of paperwork back to me. However, things have worked out very nicely and I now have everything back, including the fingerprints which I sent out on July 8. They came back in the middle of last week. The only bump in the road I had was a typo on the letters from my homestudy agency, so I am awaiting their revised documents, which should arrive today. Once they are here, I ave just two more papers to notarize and then I will send the dossier off via fax for LMI to approve for authentication. More on that later...

In the meantime, I have Erik here from Sweden for two weeks. Erik is my younger exchange brother who has been in our family since 2001. He spends a few weeks every summer staying at my house and hanging out with his friends, etc. This year he brought his buddy, Peter. So, I have a full house now, which is another reason I haven't written. Poor Erik. I have monopolized this computer day and night preparing the dossier notarisations, picture collection, etc. I will post the pictures that I chose for the dossier this morning as well.

Last night was very exciting. I told you towards the beginning of the month about my father's Lawn Chair Drill Tam in the 4th of July Parade up here. Well, last night they aired an 8 minute piece on them on NH Chronicle on channel 9. It was hysterical and very well done. Lily's grandfather is a movie star. HA!

In any case, next time I write to you I will have sent my dossier for agency approval. Very soon the blog will be on LOCK DOWN (it's 5:51 a.m. and perhaps a little dramatic undertone will get me in gear on the dog walk!) Remember, if I don't already know that you are reading, send me an e-mail at adoptinglily@gmail.com so I can send you an invitation.

This is the story of how a single 30-something year old woman and a 6.5 month old angel from Kazakhstan found each other and became a family. A journey which started as a dream, became reality in August 2009 when two hearts found one home... together.
