Our First Christmas

This will be a short entry, as Anelya has bronchialitis, caused by RSV and now an ear infection. I have had her on a nebulizer since Friday, which the doctor says is helping - I hear no difference in her cough, but ok. As of today, I had to put her on an antibiotic for an ear infection. Sigh. She seems to feel fine though. As long as she isn't in pain, I'm ok with it. I'm just pretty tired.

This past weekend we went to our annual family Christmas in Maine. It was great fun to see everyone, as always and, for Anelya, it was the first time she got to meet all 22 cousins, uncles, etc from Mom's side of the family. She had a great time and was very well behaved. This child never ceases to amaze me.

Being an O'Rourke means having to put ridiculous clothing at least once during a get together. As you can see, Anelya was quickly initiated and loved every minute of it! I think she was made to wear a light on her forehead!

Here she is with my cousin Molly and her husband, David.

I have so much to write and catch up on, but I am just too tired and I need to go to bed. I will try to capture my thoughts as soon as the holidays have slowed down a bit. In the meantime, I will post one more entry with our Christmas portraits!

This is the story of how a single 30-something year old woman and a 6.5 month old angel from Kazakhstan found each other and became a family. A journey which started as a dream, became reality in August 2009 when two hearts found one home... together.
