The wreaths for the fundraiser arrived on Monday and I have spent most of the week delivering the 70+ wreaths. They really are SO BEAUTIFUL! So much prettier than their pictures. These are really high quality, beautifully decorated wreaths. Depending on how well Lily is settling in at this time next year, I may do this fundraiser again next season and donate the proceeds to her orphanage.
My mom met up with Wendy, my godmother yesterday. You may remember the story of Wendy coming up for my birthday with one helluva piggy bank filled with HUNDREDS of dollars in coins and bills. Well, she did it again yesterday. I spent 3 hours last night rolling the gazillion coins which she has been saving since I last saw her in April. She also sent along the toy box I had listed on my registry, which makes the FIRST piece of Lily's furniture to arrive to the house! It's so sweet of her and I just love her to pieces.
Also, a few posts ago, I told about my friend Michelle in Germany who threw a birthday party and asked for adoption donations in lieu of gifts. Well, yesterday the check arrived, along with a lovely note from her mother and a check for $253. I am so thankful for all of the work my friends are doing and mostly for the vast amount of love they are sending Lily's way. I'm not sure how to explain how much every donation of support, help, and kindness means in this process.
This morning I will go with my parents to buy my Christmas tree. Then I will spend the rest of the day decorating the house and the tree, listening to Christmas music and trying to explain to Gunnar and Brody that, yes I know I brought outside inside, but they are still expected to pee outside. It worked out last year after the first day. Sigh. It's hard to imagine that next Christmas I will have a little munchkin here, waiting for Santa.

This is the story of how a single 30-something year old woman and a 6.5 month old angel from Kazakhstan found each other and became a family. A journey which started as a dream, became reality in August 2009 when two hearts found one home... together.
