Mission Accomplished

This whole notarization and apostille business is a piece of cake now that I am so experienced! Mom and I were on the road at 9a.m. this morning to go to the bank for the notary then to the State House. It was POURING rain and I was very very grumpy. I swear, I only got out of bed for my Kazakh peanut today.

Anyway, I decided to play my mom some funny songs from my IPod and that cheered me up. Mom thought it was hysterical when we got to the State House and I knew all of the side streets, secret parking places and details surrounding the area. Then we ran as fast as we could through the rain and into the State House. Again, she laughed because it was like I owned the place. You know me, woman on a mission - you better keep up! After about 10 minutes we were done. Easy squeezy.

Mom got a little winded on the stairs at the State House and I gently told her she better start running up some stirs because if our apartment in Kazakhstan is on the 6th floor with no elevator and we have to carry groceries up, she's gonna be hurting!

All in all it was a great day. I am very happy with my life right now. Beautiful things are happening to me and I can't wait for Lily to be a part of it all.

This is the story of how a single 30-something year old woman and a 6.5 month old angel from Kazakhstan found each other and became a family. A journey which started as a dream, became reality in August 2009 when two hearts found one home... together.
