My dossier has been at the Consulate for about a month now, so within the next few weeks we should see it move on to the ministries! I'm so excited. With every step we check off the list, the closer we get to finding Lily.
During this waiting period, I have found that I am reading blogs less often and sort of going aout my business as usual. It actually feels good to do things other than the adoption. It can make you crazy if you focus too much on it during times when you have no control. A couple of weeks ago I sat in on a travel document conference call. It seems I will have to redo the whole dossier, have it notarized and apostilled just for safe keeping, as all of the papers will be approaching the one year mark. I will also have to get a homestudy update.
I was sad to see hat another single Kaz mom to be who was close to my timeframe has decided to put her process on hold. I am feeling a little alone right now, as everyone I am in contact with is a few months ahead of me. I am hoping that someone out there may just now be finding my blog and have a similar timeframe. If that's you, please let me know.
I place the order for the wreaths today, a fundraiser which raised about $700. I am thrilled. I had no idea what my goal should be and had set the goal at $1500, but given the recent scary turns the economy has taken, I am pleased, indeed. Thank you to all of you on Team Lily who helped me with this latest venture. Pierre, Donnamarie, Judy, Amy, Patti, Wendy, Leah, Tina, Shauna and, of course, Mom and Dad, thank you yet again for your support. I still have a ways to go, but am confdent it will be all set by the time I am to travel.
I also secured a house/dog sitter who will stay at my house with the pooches while I am gone. As you know, Brody has some special emotional needs, so he needs to stay at home in his safe environment. I am lucky to have the support of Lorraine, a dear friend of our family, who has arranged for a colleague to stay at my house the entire time I am gone. Of course, my dad (grandpa name Hoovie) will be around and he will come by to give the granddogs some extra love.
I went to my doctor today to check in an she said it would be no problem for me to get in again to redo the HIV test and other paperwork necessary. She is so excited about this adoption. It's fun.
So, I have no news to report and am therefore writing less. As the holidays approach and my other PAP frinds take off on their journeys to meet their children, I want to wish you all the very best, safe travels and smooth adoption processes. Blessings to you all.

This is the story of how a single 30-something year old woman and a 6.5 month old angel from Kazakhstan found each other and became a family. A journey which started as a dream, became reality in August 2009 when two hearts found one home... together.
