Doing Better

Ok I am doing better now. I needed a few weeks to really grieve my loss and just be a cry baby. Now I am starting to feel like myself again. It's still an up and down road, but mostly up for now.

I have taken on dossier updating with full force. Yesterday I sent my FBI fingerprints to be rerun and today I sent off the request to USCIS for a new appointment to do fingerprints again for them, as those expire in August. My updated homestudy is here. I am awaiting my new references which will be apostilled out of state. I got my final medical done again, with the exception of the last minute HIV test which I will do towards the end of the summer. So, the documents seem to be under control for now, which is a great feeling.

While I don't have any news for my own adoption, I am pleased to say that my good friend Sandi is now home and settling in with her Semey Baby, Finley. Finley is just a little dream and they are perfectly suited for one another. Other than that, I can say that there is still movement in my region and I am hopeful that things will continue to move along nicely. Lily is waiting for me, so we have to stay strong and positive and make our little nest for her!

I have managed to create a CRAZY summer schedule for myself. I may have over committed myself, but I am determined to not sit around and be sad. So, I have signed up for a slew of golf lessons, which I started on Monday and LOVED and I have pretty much booked every weekend with social events until August.

Thank you for bearing with me in my down period. All of you know that such a depressive slump is very unusual for me, but it's necessary to really admit to yourself and others what you are going through, so that you can really move on when you are done grieving. So, at least for today, I think I am DONE! :-)

This is the story of how a single 30-something year old woman and a 6.5 month old angel from Kazakhstan found each other and became a family. A journey which started as a dream, became reality in August 2009 when two hearts found one home... together.
