I am sure many of you are cursing my name for not having written in so lone. The truth is, I have been so flat out busy with the holidays and getting the house ready, that I really haven't had a chance. Also, there just hasn't been much to say. I have been anxiously following the journeys to Kazakhstan of my friends who are a few months ahead of me. This week a very special friend of mine received her region assignment, which honestly made my whole month of January light up! I am so thrilled for her.
Strangely, I have been able to calm myself a bit about the wait and just stay busy. This is a good thing, because if I was blogging every day and constantly obsessing about the process, I'd have gone bananas a long time ago.
I met with an old friend over Christmas whom I hadn't seen in about 10 years. We had dinner in Portsmouth, which was fun and cozy. During that dinner, another generous gift was pledged and I was again blown away by the generosity of the loving people around me who can't wait for Lily to come home. It won't be long now!
Happy New Year!

This is the story of how a single 30-something year old woman and a 6.5 month old angel from Kazakhstan found each other and became a family. A journey which started as a dream, became reality in August 2009 when two hearts found one home... together.
