Pot of Gold

Today I finally got in touch with my social worker! She was very nice and is able to come for my first homestudy interview this weekend!  This is very exciting indeed and I foresee myself furiously going to town on my house in preparation!

She informed me that it's now time for me to go for my medical evaluation, collect my financial paperwork, and gather my written references. I have chosen four people whom I have known for at least four years who know me from different areas of my life. All of which have seen me with their own kids, with the exception of a lifelong friend of my father who has known me since birth. I thought he would be a great reference from someone who has known me forever, so he joins my mother in that category.

The ball is rolling fast now and I am a little dizzy from the mountain of paperwork that is now coming my way. But with every notarization, FEDEX package, and phone call, I am one step closer to finding my little pot of gold at the end of the rainbow in Kazakhstan!

This is the story of how a single 30-something year old woman and a 6.5 month old angel from Kazakhstan found each other and became a family. A journey which started as a dream, became reality in August 2009 when two hearts found one home... together.
