Hoooo Hummmmmm

The window is FINALLY open and I actually heard some birds singing this morning. The snow has melted in my garden and now I might even be able to rake away some of the sludge this weekend to get ready to plant some flowers. FINALLY. But as I write this, there's a kid outside my office window climbing a 4 foot snow bank where the snow was plowed, so it's still a little wintry outside to say the least.

I have been sitting tight and waiting... and waiting... and waiting for my social worker to call. I have a name now, which is very exciting. Nice to not have to refer to her as "that social worker", but... that social worker has been given two weeks to contact me from the agency and it seems she is going to take the full two weeks. So I am waiting and waiting to get this homestudy on the road!

In the meantime, I opened my EBay store which is keeping me more than busy and I have started my adoptive parenting classes. My agency requires 10 hours of education which is done with a DVD course consisting of several lectures about a host of issues including but not limited to brain development in adoptive children and its relationship to the primary caregiver, bonding and attachment, along with many other subjects focused on the emotional, physical, spiritual and mental prospectives of adoption on the children and their families. I have passed the first two of four tests and am gearing up to finish the coursework this weekend before the homestudy so we can get this show on the road to Kazakhstan!

This is the story of how a single 30-something year old woman and a 6.5 month old angel from Kazakhstan found each other and became a family. A journey which started as a dream, became reality in August 2009 when two hearts found one home... together.
