WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Relax everyone. I'm not talking about a PAP smear (for my Swedish friends - a pap smear means "cellprov" hahahaha). In adoption lingo there are a gazillion acronyms, the operative one for today is PAP = Prospective Adoptive Parent. So, imagine how we burst out laughing today at dinner with my parents and grandparents when my grandfather made a wisecrack by hearing that I had passed my test and am now an official PAP and said, "My granddaughter got a positive PAP test!!!" It was very funny and almost borderline icky. HAHAHA
So here's what all of this means: This evening I received an e-mail indicating that my application has been reviewed by my agency and was accepted! I am now officially on the road to adopting my baby from Kazakhstan! I knew my application would go through, but getting this e-mail was yet another milestone in this journey that I have only just begun.
Just a quick update tonight because I am pretty beat.
Big hugs all around.

This is the story of how a single 30-something year old woman and a 6.5 month old angel from Kazakhstan found each other and became a family. A journey which started as a dream, became reality in August 2009 when two hearts found one home... together.
