Tis the Day Before Christmas
That I start this blog
It's my way of sharing the clarity and fog
I've made my decision
The day's finally here
To start adopting my Lily, hopefully next year!
A lengthy process awaits
Papers and interviews galore
Fundraising, insurance, grant writing and more!
But far away in Asia
A woman's belly grows
With a baby girl who will soon need a home
I invite you to join me
Through the laughs and the tears
Obstacles, miletones, frustrations and fears
I will share my experiences
As candidly as I can
It's my way of including you in my journey to Kazakhstan

This is the story of how a single 30-something year old woman and a 6.5 month old angel from Kazakhstan found each other and became a family. A journey which started as a dream, became reality in August 2009 when two hearts found one home... together.

Andrea,
I am so excited for you, and so inspired by you. Though, not in this process myself, I feel like I too am learning from your experience. Thank you for sharing it. I'll be following you along on this blog. I did adopt a cat last night who just hit/clawed me in the eye. I'm sure yours will be less violent;)
Thinking of you.
Susan
